Why seek support

Feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or just received a diagnosis of ADHD or Autism? Perhaps you're navigating the tumultuous sea of emotions and experiences that seem at odds with the 'typical' mould.

You're not alone, and your hopes for a space of acceptance, understanding, and support are closer than you think. A space where struggles with relationships, career, life purpose and direction, focus, social norms, motivation, and task execution can be explored and transformed.

These aspirations are not about changing who you are, but rather about fostering a deeper understanding and acceptance of your unique neurodiversity. There's no need to fit into the world's neurotypical expectations. Instead, it's about discovering how to live with your innate strengths and navigate the unique challenges that your neurodiversity may present.

What can you expect

It's only natural to fear being misunderstood or lumped into a one-size-fits-all therapeutic approach. But envisage a different kind of therapeutic experience - a journey where your neurodiversity is seen not as a pathology, but as a distinct way of being. A journey where we acknowledge the burden and challenges that come with neurodiversity, aiming not to 'celebrate' it in a superficial sense, but to help you manage it with skill and resilience.

That's where I come in. As a psychotherapeutic counsellor, my unique blend of psychotherapy and coaching is finely tuned to the needs of neurodiverse individuals. Drawing upon a range of methodologies, including Psychosynthesis, Internal Family Systems, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I offer a personalised therapeutic experience. Together, we can explore life's big questions - 'Who am I?', 'What should I be doing with my life?', 'How can I cope?' - all while building better relationships, finding strategies to navigate a neurotypical world, and fostering a sense of ease and acceptance with who you are.

What happens next

Starting your journey towards a richer and more skilful understanding of your neurodiversity is simple. I offer online sessions (via Zoom) tailored to your needs.

Take that first step on this fulfilling journey of self-discovery and growth. Together, we can harness the richness of your neurodiverse experience, helping you lead a life that's authentically yours, where your genuine struggles and challenges fit in their rightful place, without becoming overwhelming.

If this sounds helpful to you, book an introductory call below, and I look forward to meeting you soon.

I'm Alastair

I spent 20 years in therapy and various healing spaces, and ultimately trained as a therapist. When I got diagnosed with ADHD (and had family diagnosed as ASD) I understood why traditional therapy hadn't really been working. That's why I blend therapy and coaching (with a healthy dash of soul and spirituality too). Because I get why we need a little of each.

My biggest gift in the therapy room is that I accept you exactly as you are, both your struggles and your hopes for changes. My definition of success is helping you find peace and confidence with who you really are.
